Inyathelo in the Headlines

For those committed to social development in SA - TYGERBURGER (Bellville) 20 Apr 2011

There is a call for nominations for the Inyathelo Award for Philanthropy in the Arts. The Inyathelo Philanthropy Awards were established in 2007 to acknowledge, celebrate and profile the full spectrum of diversity in South African philanthropic giving. They are seeking nominations in various categories for people who have committed their personal resources towards social development in South Africa. One of the award categories this year is the Inyathelo Award for Philanthropy in the Arts. This award recognises an individual who has demonstrated long-term commitment to, and financial support for, organisations and initiatives in the arts, a seriously underfunded sector.

The core aim of the awards is to inspire South Africans at all economic levels to take responsibility for South Africa's social development by giving and contributing what they can. Inyathelo believes that by highlighting the achievements of the recipients and showcasing innovation and best practice in philanthropy, others will be inspired and encouraged to make their own contribution.
