As the Youth Day commemorations wind down, we at are reminded that young South Africans continue to sacrifice and give of themselves in hopes of building a better nation for all.
Over the past eight years, Inyathelo has had the privilege of honoring ten Youth in Philanthropy Awardees. Between them, they have established charities for children, founded youth centres, launched environmental projects, founded organisations to protect the rights of refugees, created employment opportunities for communities in need, worked to raise awareness about the plight of rhinos and collected over 100 tonnes of maize meal to feed the hungry. Their example gives us great hope for the future of South Africa.
There is still time to nominate someone for the 2014 Inyathelo Philanthropy Awards. Tell us about your Philanthropy Hero! Their stories will help us bring attention to their particular cause, as well as highlight giving and philanthropy in South Africa.
