Inyathelo is delighted at the appointment of Vuyiswa Sidzumo as the regional director of Ford Foundation Southern Africa, and on behalf of the Inyathelo management and operations team and Inyathelo trustees, extends its heartfelt congratulations and good wishes.
Vuyiswa was formerly the acting regional director of the Ford Foundation, and a senior programme officer who worked closely with grantee partners and supported local philanthropy.
“We were excited to learn about your appointment because you have already achieved so much in the Southern Africa office in your acting capacity,” says Inyathelo Executive Director Nazeema Mohamed. “The culture of the office feels welcoming and supportive to grantees, and there is a general sense of care in the partnerships. I am sure that your work and that of the programme officers will have considerable impact on improving the lives of those who are marginalised and impacted by poverty and inequality.”
Prior to joining the Ford Foundation in October 2017, Vuyiswa undertook programme work at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation before being appointed as the South African country director in 2009. The Mott Foundation has supported Inyathelo for many years, with Inyathelo using the funds to run its capacity-building clinic for nonprofits.
