About 200 nonprofit organisations NPOs and civil society bodies were equipped with knowledge of managing their organisations at a workshop organised by the Woodstockbased Inyathelo Institute. At the event on Wednesday experts shared their knowledge of good management and sustainability of NPOs. Jessica ReesJones, Inyathelo executive director, says it was an opportunity for representatives of local NPOs to network and learn. "We were delighted to host this event. It gives nonprofit practitioners the opportunity to learn about a range of vital issues, such as leadership, governance, financial management, human resources, information technology and branding," ReesJones says. Felicity Weekes, coordinator of the event, told the attendees that the NPO Service Providers Network, based in Cape Town, offers an annual oneday free skills sharing event called #ThinkGood. Weekes says network members offer their expertise and advice at no cost as their contribution to Mandela Day celebrated on 18 July every year. The #ThinkGood event is held later in the year so that nonprofits that have their own Man Cara Loening left of Sign Language Education and Development chats to Blessing Tsiga of dela Day activities can plan for it. the Oasis Association at a Woodstock workshop for nonprofits.
